Window in Mango Yellow

SERIES ÉTUDES AND VARIATIONS · EV07 · 2025

Watercolour on 100% cotton paper · 20 × 20 cm

This study focuses on the frontal simplicity of a window framed by green shutters, set within a mango yellow wall shaped by light.

The motif is reduced to essentials: surface, opening, contrast.

The yellow field functions as a structural plane rather than decoration. The green shutters introduce vertical tension, stabilising the composition through restrained symmetry. Shadows remain soft and suspended.

Aligned with the Paris–Switzerland–Japan trajectory, the work favours architectural clarity over anecdote. No narrative elements interrupt the reading of space; the composition remains contained, almost silent.

Colour operates here as architectural matter.
