Inner Passage
PORTES SERIES · P04 · 2026
Watercolour on 100% cotton paper · 20 × 20 cm
The reduced format intensifies the introspective dimension of the work. The passage unfolds less as an opening outward than as a movement inward. Layers of watercolour modulate the space with chromatic restraint, favouring silent depth over contrast.
The architectural structure remains identifiable, yet partially recedes in favour of a contained atmosphere. Here, the threshold acquires a psychological dimension: it marks an internal transition, a shift of the gaze toward a mental space.
The work thus proposes an experience of withdrawal, in which the density of the plane enters into dialogue with the surrounding void. Architecture becomes the frame of an interiority.
