Here, the gate is conceived as mass and stratification. Accumulated pigments suggest sedimentation and alteration, inscribing temporality into the very surface of the work. The material does not imitate stone; it evokes its density through superimposition and transparency.
The composition sustains a tension between weight and openness. Though compact, the gate remains permeated by light, which reveals its micro-variations. This oscillation between opacity and diffusion grants the whole a presence that is stable yet never fixed.
The threshold thus becomes a site of concentration — a point of pause within the flow of the gaze. Architecture is no longer décor, but perceptual structure.
